OUR HISTORY

A Storied Legacy

The Bow Valley Club was founded in 1981 when a group of investors hired Murray Lilley as the Club’s first club squash professional and manager. Lilley, a transplanted Kiwi, was not only ranked among the world’s top squash players, but also played Davis Cup Tennis for New Zealand. Lilley left the Bow Valley Club in 1984 to become the National Men’s Squash Coach as well as becoming an alternate on the Canadian Men’s Bobsled Team at the 1988 Calgary Olympics. Following Murray’s departure, John Lecky, the Founder of Canada 3000 Airlines, purchased the Club. The “BVC” glass doors of LILLEY restaurant are the original doors Mr. Lecky installed in the Club and serve as a tribute to all of those who were a part of the Club’s storied past.
